Loved this! It's what I tell my Tai Chi students. A solid understanding of the basics and a lot of practice until muscle memory guides the moves so that one doesn't have to think about the nuts & bolts of how to execute each move, and can instead enjoy the energy flow. Now, I just need to apply the same process on my writing journey! ;)

That's so cool! Writing is indeed a totally different beast, can't say I have it mastered quite yet either but trying to publish something weekly sure helps work that muscle for me 💪

The problem with me is that sometimes I get impatient! I guess nurturing my patience is another learning skill I need to hone.

Ah, impatience! I suffer from this too. it’s ok to extend yourself for a bit and then return your attention to basics again. Like meditation, you haven’t failed just bc your mind wandered :)

I wouldn’t say I still practice 😅 but I do have a memory of what it was like to be a beginner practitioner!

Great advice about focusing on basics! They are the foundation for any activity we pursue. If only I could bring myself to practise scales before playing my piano pieces. Maybe just start with Praeludium every time.

Agreed, Praeludium is much more palatable than scales!!
