The porridge 🥣 is called “risgrøt” translating to “rice porridge”. Though it’s common to have it anytime during the cold season it is especially traditional around Christmas time. It’s made by cooking rice and milk, adding vanilla. Toppings are sugar, cinnamon and a slice of butter and it’s just delicious 🤤 when you make a pot of this, be sure to put a bowl out on the porch. Why? Well, this is for the Christmas gnome (we call it the “nisse”, you probably remember the definition from the previous newsletter 😉 lol) who protects your farm and property!
God Jul! So is the porridge a Norwegian thing?
